A builder with a passion for people. Raised among the flower bulbs and self-employed in construction from 2009. Active as an estate agent since 2016. Własny Dom grew out of the people I met along the way, and out of the need to truly guide them through buying a home in the Netherlands. From the first viewing to the contact with the mortgage adviser and the notary.
I grew up on my father's flower bulb farm. Around forty Polish employees worked there all year round, rising to as many as a hundred in season. That is where I learned the Polish language, and where I met my wife, with whom I still pull the cart together today.
After that I went into construction, first as a carpenter and later with my own building company. On the building sites I again worked with many Polish craftsmen, the best craftsmanship around. But when I asked where they themselves lived, the answer was almost always the same: a rented room or a shared flat, often for more than an average mortgage.
The reason was never a lack of money. The reason was language, regulations and the absence of someone who could guide them through the Dutch process in a language they understand. That is where the idea behind Własny Dom was born.
“Would you rather use your rent to pay off your landlord's mortgage, or invest that same money in a home of your own?”
In 2016 I turned that idea into my profession: personal guidance in buying and financing a home. The services have since grown broader, and I now also handle the complete sale of homes. No anonymous service, but a face you know and a phone that simply gets answered.
My background in construction proves invaluable. When we view a home together, I see more than the sales photos. I see the foundation, the structure, the spots where problems will appear in ten years. That consistently saves clients thousands of euros in unexpected costs.
And the work is done in three languages: Dutch, Polish or English, whichever suits you best. From the first conversation to the deed at the notary, nothing gets lost in translation.
